Traffic Trending and Analysis

I've been pouring over my traffic reports and I'm seeing better results coming from google on some of my sites. Most of my sites are seeing a very tiny blip on the google radar and this could either indicate that I'm starting to appear in the results, or it's just an anomaly and I might still be in the google sandbox.

I received a question from one of my readers asking why I do not give each of my blogger blogs an actual domain. There are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly this is a sort of experiment that I've had in the works. I believe that you can make a very successful blog without needing a top level domain. Secondly, I want to see a return on my actual work first, then once I have the return, I will turn it over into enhancements for the blog. A sort of, pull it up by its own bootstraps scenario.

Well, that is my update for tonight. I will be posting the new traffic goals status in the next couple of days so keep your eyes open!

Traffic Driver!

I've been working like a dog trying to summon traffic from search engines, and it is slowly beginning to work! You may notice to the right that I now have twitter integrated. This is completely a two way road. I now have my new blog posts feeding into twitter and twitter feeding into my blogs. It's a very nice setup!

You can follow me along by going to http://twitter.com/iamdebris and signing up and then click the "follow" button on my profile. If you already have a twitter account then just click the "follow" button. This will keep you steadily updated with my posts on my various blogs and I even like to toss in some twitters that I write myself so keep your eyes open!

Busy, Busy, Busy

I've updated the Goals section today and must say it's quite disappointing. I've seen a steep drop off in traffic, but this is mainly due to my lack of new content I imagine. My biggest issue is that I spend a lot of time trying to develop good, thorough content which lends me to being inconsistent with the amount I crank out each week. Either way, any increase is better than no increase. Here is some of the new content I've put out in the last two or three weeks:

As you can see I write about many different topics that come to mind. Many of these fall in line with some of my other blogs content. I will continue writing more but I tend to refuse to compromise my quality so I can crank out quantity. Hopefully the search engines will reward me in the future with great ranks!

    The Search Engines Are Cooking!

Thanks to Google.com, Yahoo.com, and Retrevo.com I've seen some very decent traffic movements over the last week. I doubt to see a 34% increase every 7 days, but it's quite welcome if they want to keep sending those to me! I've published quite a few new articles and a couple of new blog updates (Although I should be doing more!). Work and school have been bearing down on me which has slowed my content production. I'll keep you posted on how things are looking over the next couple of weeks. August 11th is approaching fast it seems.

Someone turned off my traffic tap

So traffic has staggered greatly in the past two days. I've only seen a 5.3% pageview increase, I'm hoping this is just due to the weekend slowing things down. I've been working with the Bing.com search engine lately and trying to get things cooking over there. My page ranks are low because they are so new, but I should hopefully see some better rankings coming along soon. It could be worse, I could have no rank at all! I still haven't gotten around to working with the yahoo search engine, and Google isn't liking my sitemap, despite the fact that they are the ones who generated it! That's been my whole weekend basically. Have a great day.

    Traffic Could Be Better

My standing on June 11th was a total of 1340 pageviews, I'm now at 1715. This represents a 28% increase in just two days. I imagine that this percentage will continue to decline as I don't imagine these pageviews spiking until the search engines pick up the sites and articles. I've been trying to work with the new Bing search engine, so I'll keep you posted on how that goes as well. One of these days I'll start working with the yahoo search engine as well. In all of my experience as a webmaster though, I have to say that I believe the Google Sandbox exists!
